What Members Thought
Midway through my first re-reading in 35 years, of this, the first book in the original shared-world anthology, I am struck by how much I love the concept and the editorial sense, but how little I actually like the writing. Each author has their own voice, and they were some of the peak people working in the fantasy field in 1979, but there's an inescapable clunkiness that I can only associate with old school SF nerds.
