2018: I got this book from free from Tor.com. I tried to read it, and got about 40% of the way in, but I just couldn't catch the rhythm of the world. I couldn't figure out what was going on, like who was struggling with who and why. I read the Wikipedia entry to try and get some context, but even that wasn't terribly helpful. Cook writes well enough, but talk about sparse prose. There are a lot of people who love this series, and it seemed like it has potential, but I just couldn't get on board.
