A fast-paced New Edge Sword & Sorcery tale in the vein of Leiber and Howard. It made me laugh, it gave me chills. It does deal with rape, and gets a bit disturbing, but deals with it in a gritty and somewhat satisfying way.

Just finished The Hammer and The Blade. Wow, that's a great book. With Kings of the Wyld a few weeks ago, I have just read two very entertaining sword and sorcery yarns. THaTB works great thanks to his duet of heroes, both familiar for the genre but unique in their own ways, to a story which is classic S&S but with some special twists keeping you on your toes, to the humor, especially in the dialogues between Nix and Egil, and to the writing of Paul Kemp, which is fast paced and clear. A Good Romp

Classic sword and sorcery that really scratched the the proverbial itch. Story about two friends that have been beaten up by life but manage to find the good in it with some loyalty and bad jokes towards each other. Throw in some fantasy aspects and bam! You've got a fun escape-style romp of a story. Enjoy!
