Bloodstone is a decent book, but not a great one. After having read several of the shorter stories, this novel didn't feel like it reached up to their quality by any means. It's a nice read, but Kane seems to be lacking this terrifying unnatural side of his that makes him such a great character.

Probably closer to 3.5 stars, but I will give the benefit of rounding up. Parts of this were engrossing, but it didn’t suck me in. At its mere 200 pages, I should have ripped through this in 3 days maximum; but it failed to grab me. At times it did.
