I don’t know what I was expecting, but wow was this really good. Points for originality (released in 1912) and for being seminal. I wasn’t expecting such sadness nor a good romance.
In this classic, Burroughs shows us what it is to be a true master of the craft. The action and adventure never stop, and the fantastic settings support and highlight a group of knowable and loveable characters. If, like me, you have gone most of your life without reading this masterwork, do so. If you read it as a child, do yourself a favor and read it again!
I absolutely loved this book!! I can't wait to read more in the series.

The storytelling itself is very basic, but it's a very interesting journey and seeing the huge influences it had on sci-fi and fantasy over the next century is quite exciting.
