Shelves: fantasy
This collection is a mixed bag, a little something for everyone. Some of my favourite stories featured the duo of Wolfram and Tyr, set during the disastrous (for Constantinople) 4th Crusade. Another to recommend is 'The Mad Song'. But the gem of the bunch is the Lovecraftian-SF story 'Gods in the Darkness'. This tale illustrates David West's descriptive prose style at its best. ...more

This was an enjoyable group of stories. The Mad Song and The Dragon Skald were my favorites, and the Tyr and Wolfram stories aren't to be missed either. I couldn't give this title a full five star because one of the last stories, I think it was Walking Through Walls, isn't finished within this book. There was a link to finish it elsewhere.
