'The Boy Who Would Not Be Enchanted' by A.M. Dellamonica is a nice tale about the power of names and friendship. The main character being 12 does break the suspension a bit. He reads quite a bit older. I already had a book of her on my to-read list, I'll be sure to look out for it.

'The Wind Shall Blow' by Gregory Norman Bossert takes place in the border area between Scotland and England with a Irish main character. I felt I didn't knew enough about the history to really get the complete picture.
