Wow...It took me a really long time to read this because it was really intense and hard to read when my children were awake. I'm not even sure how I feel about it. I made me at times excited, scared, nervous and almost any other emotion besides happy. I'm not even sure what to say about it. It left me so conflicted, but in a good way. Any book that has me ready to measure my walls 49 pages into it is a good book in my opinion.

Concept and plot were really interesting and kept me turning the pages... the structure, while truly innovative, got in the way of the story for me a little bit. Which is probably what it was supposed to do. I guess I'm a boring traditionalist when it comes to my books. Also, the pekingese scene was one of the most disturbing things I have ever read. I'm still shaking that one off.
