Not the strongest beginning but reading the assassins blade before I read this helped me love Celaena’s character more. Sure the pacing was a bit off and the actual challenges itself didn’t have enough stakes, but I still enjoyed it. I believe that Throne of Glass had so much potential. I did in fact enjoy this book a lot more than I originally thought; however, it still did not live up to the hype and could have been a lot better.
Celaena just didn't cut it for me. As someone who practically lived their entire life as a merciless killer, it is not understandable how the transition into a ditsy lady-in-waiting was so easy for her to fill.
