4.25 stars! What a funky little book! I immediately thought of two people who would like this one and bought it for one of them. Robots, a tea monk, some other world planet, a non binary protagonist, etc. i am so completely interested in the next in the series (I didn’t even know there was one…).

It’s good but there isn’t much there.
It’s so short.
Dex is a monk who is unsatisfied with life who changes vocations in search of finding their purpose. After achieving some renown for their work as a tea monk (and really I’m not sure how that is a vocation… but whatever) they set off to find in search of cricket chirping and perhaps new purpose.
Along the journey they run into Mosscap a wild robot who is trying to learn what it is humanity needs.
