I really liked this one. I didn’t except to either. This was a read for the Frisco undead and unread book club.
It’s hard to describe the plot without spoilers so in vaguest of terms it is about a system of planet (100s of years in the future) and the way between these planets is collapsing (this the title).
Most of the book is politics and typically I find them boring. There is very little actions but still I was fascinated by it.

Scalzi has matured as a writer and plotter. This is top notch and without pages of wasted words and sub-plots to pad it out. Something of a metaphor for our current world's slide if I am not imagining it, would that we had this Emperox though.
