I have to admit that one of the main reasons I decided to listen to Armada is because Will Wheaton is in my top five of favorite narrators. I really liked this book as a whole. There parts that were bit bogged down with gamer jargon. I am not a gamer so I did tune some of it out. Once the story got going it was really interesting. I liked all the conspiracies and shocking twists.
This one was made way better for me because of how much I enjoyed the narration by Wil Wheaton. The story, however, fell a bit flat for me. I feel like if your main character has to repeatedly say how unbelievable something is then maybe there's an issue. There were moments of greatness, but it did not live up to the perfection of Ready Player One. I just thought there were too many loose ends and random references. This reads more like a debut than his actual debut book, Ready Player One. Ready Player One's brilliance makes Armada pale in comparison. Armada is not a bad book, it's just not as good as his first.
