I normally associate the name "Orson Scott Card" with lengthy, dense, hardcore science-fiction novels that have equally lengthy and dense sequels...not something I would pick up to read independently of a third-party recommendation.

The games are awesome and incredibly planned out. The book is incredibly captivating, and I could not put it down while I was reading it. And the ending was what justified the five stars for me; it really wrapped up the story in a very poignant manner that I had not expected at all given the tone of the rest of the book.
