I really enjoyed this book for the most part. The book was filled with great characters, Owen Meany was a character that is by far unforgettable and the situations he gets into tend to be hilarious. Sort of laugh out loud hilarious.
This was my first time reading a John Irving novel and it took me a bit to get used to his writing. He writes with vivid detail, so much, that I found myself reading many pages two-three times. He tends to also change gears and skip around.

I could not get into this book. I've read other books by John Irving, and while I finished those, I couldn't get into them either. I never did finish Prayer for Owen Meany, other than skimming through the last third. I can't say that I disliked it, it just moved too slowly for my taste. It's not a book to read for fun.

One of my all time favorite books. I love Owen Meany. He is so funny and this book made me laugh outloud all the way through. It was also Irving's method of discussing his opinions about Vietnam. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good laugh and can stand some critcism of the war.
