Ok. This was impressive. I'm not sure how if/how Mr. Chesterton is gonna top this, but its way better than I was anticipating.

For something that's billed as a knock-off Sherlock Holmes, this really has its own flavor. I particularly liked the dynamic between Father Brown and Flambeau, and how it evolves over the course of the stories. I Love those Two!

One thing I would have loved more of is Valentin. The twist with him was fantastic, and I would have liked more build up. (view spoiler)

I like the *idea* of this. Father Brown is a memorable, admirable figure—notable for his taciturn wisdom and humble strength. And what a great idea to have a seemingly mousey priest detective humbly minister to sinners (after all, they are who Christ really came to save) while he quietly solve mysteries. But ...
