Brilliantly written. Difficult read--first 4 chapters are first person POV thru the medium of letters, then it switches to 3rd person. Endo telegraphs nothing as he pilots his characters through turbulent times and theology to a powerful and spiritually fulfilling ending.
One of my top ten novels. Incredibly powerful and humbling.
