The two-star rating is only based on my personal preference. I am well-aware of the socio-political historic aspects of this sci-fi novel. I just didn't like it all that much.
The style was kinda lecturing, like every word put on the page was intended to TEACH something. And the lessons within did not teach me much about anything I can expect here on Earth.

Quite a fascinating read from the onset, with a very interesting premise - especially considering when it was written. The writing isn't the simplest, but never too heavy, not even at the start when so many terms are still unknown. I enjoyed the side stories as much as the main plotline, which they complemented very well. Probably worth a reread somewhere down the line.

This was a hard book to me but ultimately, after having a good discussion w/ my book club, I decided I actually rather liked it. I'm glad I read it.
