After years of watching filmed adaptations of this story, last year I decided to read the source material with my children, then aged 12 and 10.
Upshot: We enjoyed it, which is a fairly impressive accomplishment for a book written so long ago, in such a different time, that is such a well-worn story in our culture.

Loved this book! I think I'll make a goal to re-read it each Christmas! I'd have to ecco some of my friends in saying that one of the qualities of this book and other great books is that it really gets you thinking and reflecting on your own life. I love it's power and ability to do that!

One of my favorite Christmas books!
When I imagine Ebenezer Scrooge I always see Patrick Stewart from the 1999 TV adaptation.
However this is a book I can read every Christmas and I will never get tired of it.
