I love this novel for its language as well as its venom. Libertine fiction with a twist of morality. Also, one can consider it a noir novel with a genuine anti-hero at the helm of the plot. Anti-heroes are rare; they take the place of the usual hero, drive the story, and they may or may not receive what they richly deserve.
