Reading this book feels like taking a really really long vacation. So much happens that you almost forget the beginning by the time you get to the end. But it is totally worth it.
Wonderful. A great story of the fall of the Old South. I know the movie is a classic, but the book is better!

I was able to read this book in just a couple of days despite its length. The dialogue in it is exactly the same as in the movie, so as I was reading, the scenes of the movie played out in my head. It was exactly like watching Gone with the Wind with closed captioning. An interesting experience that I have never had before or since.
