What Members Thought
Each Faulkner book is a challenge at first to understand the method he will write. In this case, each chapter is the conscience thinking of each of the characters. The book themes were family secrets, poverty, adultery, town gossip, greed and poor decision making. This is my 3rd Faulkner book, I enjoy reading the hidden messages and the whole dynamics he puts into each character he writes. Good books will stay with you forever and this one certainly will.....
fascinating and extreamly depressing, should not have read this when I ran out of celexa. The ending reminded me of many men I have seen who convince themselves they are doing the right thing by making their life better.
