Very funny and a great satire of the gothic genre. The constant mention of The Mysteries of Udolpho by the characters amused me more. Henry Tilney and Catherine Morland are my second favorite Austen's couples after Emma and George Knightley. Eleanor Tilney, Mr. Allen and the Morland's family are great side characters as well. The general provided a good tension and he served his purpose as 'villain' in the story justly. ...more
