I really enjoyed this book. It is definitely not for everyone but it fully deserves it being called a classic.
I loved his turn of phrase and the way he uses language. I think some readers might be put off by how fond the author is of his penis, and describing how erect or flaccid it is although I suppose that most 22 year old men who never had sex and really want to would probably be the same.
There is a strong theme of sex in the book, and having Freud sprinkled here and there is a nod to that. ...more
