Well It has been a week and honestly I still don't know how I feel about this book but here is the lowdown:

Pi lives in Pondicherry where he grows up amongst a large menagerie of animals in his fathers zoo until he is 16 and political issues force the family to sell the zoo and the animals off bit by bit and board a boat to Winnipeg. This was a bocd. The accent and infection is what made the story enjoyable.

I would say that this is closer to 2.5 stars simply because the ending was wonderful but the slow, journey-like plot was too slow and gory for me. A modern Odyssey?
