Just a quick glance at my friends and people I follow list of people who have read this book, tells me that this is either a love or hate book.

I'm one of those who is in the middle.

I enjoyed the plot a lot. The prose verged on pretentious, but it didn't quite cross the line.

Well It has been a week and honestly I still don't know how I feel about this book but here is the lowdown:

Pi lives in Pondicherry where he grows up amongst a large menagerie of animals in his fathers zoo until he is 16 and political issues force the family to sell the zoo and the animals off bit by bit and board a boat to Winnipeg.
