I was ready to give up on the book, when, despite my first failed efforts, my book club decided to read it. I gave it another shot, starting at the previous stopping point so as not to have to reread. In the end, there was something valuable in the book about which many reviewers said that they were ready for the tiger to eat the boy and thus couldn't continue. Perhaps I felt the same. This book isn't for everyone, yet it's one that really resonated with me, and Pi is one of my all-time favourite storytellers ever.

What's in a story? A bit of truth, a bit of fantasy, a bit of wishful thinking, a bit of darkness, and it's up to you to figure out what to believe, what to speculate about, and ultimately, what to accept.

It's kind of funny, but I never really understood the "story to make you believe in God" thing until after watching the movie.
