The book was great fiction writing, maybe more compelling if actually true. A few chapters were repetitive and expanded out more than needed be. After chapter 92; I was in eager with anticipation for the book to just end. With great books, I do not want them to end.

I really enjoyed this novel of faith and survival. I appreciated Pi's take on religion. Why should religions be mutually exclusive? For me faith and spirituality are far more important than any religion. Reading about Pi's struggles make you appreciate the ease of your everyday life. There were parts of the novel I had difficulty reading since I have a vivid olfactory imagination and a low tolerance for the consumption of gross things. I was reading this book concurrently with a book called "The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym" by Edgar Allan Poe. And I got to the part in each story where a character named "Richard Parker" is on a lifeboat with another character and some weird shit goes down. And then it hit me, what this story was talking about. And the symbolism, and all the conviluted talk about religion vs the reality of God, just struck me. (I skipped ahead to verify my reaction was accurate and it was.)
