I read this, I think when I was sixteen or seventeen; I had heard about it as a story of a teenager acting like a teenager and was curious as to how literature framed that. I was severely disappointed. I found Holden annoying, I didn't understand any of his anger or why he felt entitled to whine about the things that he did.
