The Hobbit starts off as a typical children's story but gradually progresses into greater maturity and darkness. I loved the way Bilbo has been portrayed - a little person with big heart, childish innocence, who has fears like rest of us, homesick. Bilbo is very adorable and I would love to read about more of us adventures.

Tolkien er udråbt som en af fædrene til det vi idag karakterisere som Fantasy. Det var bare "Ringenes Herre" han blev berømt for. Hobitten er en gennemsnitlig fortælling en gruppe dværge, en hobbit og en gammel troldmand, der drager ud for at nedlægge en drage. Den er ikke speciel og hurtig glemt igen.
