Ok so dead white guys, I need a break from you!! I know that Hemingway is supposed to be amazing, a legacy in writing in America but I am not sure what all the hype is for. Sure I loved "The Sun Also Rises" but this one, I really struggled through. If it wasn't talking about war and fighting and drinking it was talking about love, love, love and how Catherine was the greatest. Hmm.. this was a hard one to rate. If anything I got to learn more about Hemingway's style of writing, which is very simple and plain. But that helps when you're reading about World War 1, but when you want to read a rich love story, it was ridiculous. His description of women was so awful, that I thought I was really reading the worst sexist description of women characters that I have ever come across.
