What Members Thought
I decided to read or re-read a lot of "classics" and rememberd liking "Les Miserables" in high school (and no I have not seen the film or stage versions). Hugo is often maddening in his meandering and digression on topics that may only be tangential to the story. It is like listening to a very old person relating their experience on the Titanic but taking time to tell you about their summer vacation 5 years earlier. (Even so, I enjoyed the Bishop's conversation with the old revolutionary a lot.
