This book is exceptional! I would not be able to do justice to the writing if I tried to summarize the 117 chapters (or 1243 pp.) I can see how this book was very popular when it was first released in a serial formal from August 1844 to January 1846. And continued to be republished many times throughout the century. I read the book in 5 days. I could not put the book down and it repeatedly surprised me.

Behemoth book!
Alexandre Dumas is one of my favorite authors of all time! His characters are wonderful...the conflicts convincing, even though the story is one of an era gone by. Still true today.
