I was pre-reading this for use with my oldest son, but it was also my first time reading Robinson Crusoe. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it, the desert island castaway storyline never really appealed to me as a kid. I found Crusoe's observations on finding contentment in the midst of a discouraging situation very applicable right now, as I have struggled to find redeeming value in the place we're currently living. ...more
