I believe any girl would want a man to love her as Gatsby loved Daisy.
Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that's no matter--tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther.... I hadn't read this magnificent novel since my high school and college days. At that time, I found it to be quite dull. This time, however, I came to appreciate the magnificance of this classic work. A lot of students read this at my high school, but to my disappointment none of my English classes required it. I had been told it was boring and found it to be the opposite. It's a quick read. I fell in love with the characters. I enjoy the ideas about wealth, character and aspiration. And the ending... One of my favorite novels.
