What Members Thought

A lot of students read this at my high school, but to my disappointment none of my English classes required it. I think I read this at the exact right time in my life as I will be turning 30 like Nick Carraway. There is so much I enjoy about this novel. I had been told it was boring and found it to be the opposite. It's a quick read. I fell in love with the characters. I enjoy the ideas about wealth, character and aspiration. And the ending... One of my favorite novels.

The more I read this book, the more I love it!
There is such a despair in the text: from the very beginnig, you feel a tension, one that will lead to a disaster.
This is a book to read when it's hot outside, when everything seems awaiting, just like it seems the characters are awaiting in the book. ...more
