First of all, I cannot believe it has taken me this long to get to this classic and wonderful novel. But in a strange way, it's kind of wonderful, as I get to discover Orwellian genius for the very first time! It is easy to see why this is considereda classic. But what distinguishes this novel to a true classic, is that this novel is still relevant.
The novel follows the life of a man who exists where all is controlled by a totallitarian party.The author briefly let's you hope, although in your gut you know that it is not going to end well and it doesn't. Orwell wants to drive home the fact that nothing well or good can come out of it. With the ending, there is no happily ever after or a spark of hope. ...more

This book is absolutely incredible. So harrowing, a warning to us all. It's been awhile since a novel has had me thinking so much every step of the way. I highly recommend it.
