Very informative! A great snapshot of residential city survival in the early 20th century. But just another example how people should never try to live AND be happy in NewYorkCity-type places. Misery from the beginning of history in that place. (And yes I am a biased reader. I prefer living in rural slower paced areas with low costs of living.)

Excellent book. Should be a must read for all ages and sexes. It is much more than about a girl growing up in Brooklyn. It is about life no matter what sex you are.
