I love how Nabokov writes, I love his wit and his sheer skill with the English language. I found the images and the progression of the "relationship" between this pedophile and his victim to be unforgettable, even as it was disturbing. As with most of Nabokov's work, the story itself seems the least important aspect of what he is doing. I suppose I could have spent more time trying to figure out the details of what really happened, versus what happened in his mind. In the end that distinction be ...more
