I am having a really hard time deciding how I feel about this book. I loved the way it was written in letter format and it feels very truthful throughout. Charlie is a fascinating character and his journey is heart-wrenching. The story is disturbing to me because Charlie's experience as a high school freshman is so VASTLY different from my own and as a mother of a high school freshman I would hate to think of my son doing the things Charlie is doing. Great book. While it reads like a journal entry, I connected with the character. I think everyone knows someone from high school like Charlie. A must read.
