What Members Thought
As a die-hard fan of Stephen King I am rarely disappointed by his books and this is an absolute classic, one of his best in my opinion! Just wondering what the hell the film was all about? Yes, Jack Nicholson is very good in his role, but the character of Wendy is wimpy and pathetic, and I think they miss out some quite important parts including changing the ending. Read the book to get the real story!!
I really can't say enough about this book. It still blows my mind that a book can be so scary, that King could completely terrify me with only words. I can't recommend this book enough to anyone. It's certain not rising to the level of the classics that I usually try to read, but he creates this world in such a perfect, descriptive way, it really is worth reading. And then of course you can go watch Jack Nicholsen in all of his glory, but read the book first.
