I was a bit confused by the book to start with but it made me curious enough to keep going. I really liked the world building and found it very interesting.
However at the point where Jonas finds out about releasing I felt the whole book changed. It seemed like the author had given up on the book and was trying for a quick way out. I would have given this book 3 or 4 stars if not for the ending. It just ruined the book for me.

Read this in middle school and I thought it was awesome. Looked through a friend's reading list and noticed there is a loose trilogy and a new release in Oct. I think this deserves a second reading. :-)
