4.5 stars!

Wow, what a book, I did not see that coming at all! There’s is so much going on, and tiny clues along the way. This book is definitely a good one to reread, because I’d love to see what I can pick out along the way. The writing is great, and short chapters make this book a quick read!

3.5 Although I don't usually pick up/enjoy thrillers, I do make exceptions for psychological thrillers. I found this very intriguing. It was tricky to get through to start, because of the writing style and the tedious introduction and Theo's character. But I was soon able to fly through this.

Although my inkling for the twist was correct, I enjoyed picking up the easter eggs and clues that the author put in. I thought it did well to slowly develop up until the reveal, and the ending worked by giv

Just finished the Silent Patient. Wow, reading this novel is like riding a cart that’s about to go down a hill. It starts out a little slowly but starts to pick up pace and by the end is just zooming. The first chapters I wasn’t sure about it, but given all the positive reviews I gave it a few more chapters (they aren’t very long) and man am I glad I did.

AJ Finn calls it a perfect thriller, and I think that is a very apt description. Having read a few non spoiler reviews, and as with most thril

I was actually nervous to read this book because I was afraid it might be over-hyped, but I have to say... it really is that good.
It’s difficult to talk about thrillers without giving away spoilers, so this review may seem vague, but if you’re intrigued, just know that I fully believe it’s worth picking this book up!
A major pro for me is even though Alicia does not speak for most of the novel, we still get to hear her “voice” through excerpts from her diary & testimonies and opinions from the p

There were a lot of things I really enjoyed about this book, but the execution and lack of development in some areas left me a bit underwhelmed. However, the perspectives in the story are compelling, but I didn’t find myself as hooked as many people were. Perhaps the most interesting thing about this book is that it raises the questions: what if a professional one relies on, is just as mentally unstable (or even more so) than they are? Can you truly help someone if you, yourself are broken? All ...more

I was so enthralled by this story that I gave my baby the side-eye when he decided to wake up when I had 12 pages left to read. 12. Pages. Really, kid? Things were so intense at that point that it was reallllllly hard to close the book and know it would be hours until I could get back to it. I loved the juxtaposition of diary entries and narrative. I had to cover the last page of each chapter because I couldn’t trust my eyes not to flick over and see the last sentence of each. Having read a stre ...more

So, I got this book in a giveaway ages ago. It was the very first ARC I ever received, and kept slipping down my TBR pile, likely because I am primarily a fantasy/sci-fi reader. However, when I finally did get to it, I was so glad I did - not just because it helped break me out of a rut, but because it is one hell of a story.

This twisting and turning novel doesn't really keep you on the edge of your seat in an action packed kind of a way. It's a slow burn.
