I really enjoyed this book due to the relationship between the student and the woman, and how much he felt connected to her for a very long time. Very sad the part about the trial. A different book from my usual ones but definitely worth reading.

Need to read this a second and maybe a third time. Too many thoughts dislodged in my head that need to be thought through. It disturbs and confirms. It is very well written. I did not find a wasted word.

The Reader is a beautifully written novel that takes place in Nazi Germany in the wake of WWII. 15-year old Michael begins an intimate and passionate relationship with 30-year old Hanna. One day, she disappears. Michael does not see her again for ten years, when she is on trial for a horrible crime, and he realizes she has been guarding a lifelong secret about herself.
