I got through high school without reading this classic, but now that I've finally read it, I completely understand why librarians voted it "Novel of the Century." The guileless child narrator was the perfect voice to expose the hypocrisy around her, and Atticus' closing speech at the trial was nothing short of inspiring. I haven't read this since high school and while I remember it being very good then, it's even better now. The truth is so raw and innocent, the storytelling so easy yet deep and the characters so moving that my heart went on a roller coaster ride even though I already knew the story.
