Literary parley.

This book had smart literary references and two well read leads. Lizbeth is a miss, intent on being a spinster and future ladies companion and dodging her family’s machinations.

Sebastian, the Earl of Roddam, is happy to be Mr. Roddam to her Miss Trethow. He’s looking at an affair with her with no intentions to marry. He’s got a tortured past and a deadly secret.

Once they meet, their paths keep crossing and their now related through marriage.

Snappy dialogue and a secret.
