I have been hearing about this book for so long and finally managed to read it. Stephen Hawking talks about the laws of the universe and why they came to be the way they are. He explains how the various theories of the universe evolved, how they explain the universe, and what are their limitations. He makes it understandable to the laymen and that's the genius of this book, though I wonder if I would've understood this book 10 years ago. It can't be understood entirely by anyone until unless he/she is a student of physics. Yet, I would say the book is enthralling. It drives you into the fascinating universe, to appreciate its beauty and complexity, know about some answered and many unsolved gripping problems. Most importantly, it forces any reader to thing and probe and never to withhold oneself. ...more
