Zor bu kitabı okumak; zorluk kitabın dilinden dolayı değil; konusundan dolayı aslında. Tüm kitap boyunca nakkaş hakkında bilgi üzerine bilgi öğrenirken; en başta ilginç gelen meclis betimlemeleri sürekli tekrarlarken ( hüsrevin ağaçtaki resmine aşık olan şirin) hele bir de iki ana karakterden hiç hoşlanmadıysan; kitabı okumak eziyet olabilir.

I picked this book because of the author's Nobel Price for Literature he won in 2006 and his comments for this book being the most cheerful of his novels. However, frankly speaking, it took me more than a year to finish reading it. I have to admit I'm not a fast reader, however, the complexity of the writing style, the depth of information/story used in the the scenes, memories, events, etc. made me want to stop reading many times.
