Occasionally, though by no means often, I finish a book and think, 'I wish I'd written that!' Audrey Niffenegger's The Time Traveller's Wife is one such book. As a major movie has been adapted from the novel, it came with the baggage of exaggerated claims from the movie industry publicity machines. But I have not seen the film and was, in fact, initially introduced to the novel via that excellent readers' website, Goodreads.

I think that over all, this was a really great read, but there were times when I had to ask myself why I was still reading. It's not a very short book, which normally doesn't bother me, but this story dragged on at times. The concept was different and it's obvious that the author spent a lot of time on research for various parts of this book. I would recommend it to someone looking for an unconventional love story. It's definitely worth reading once.
