One of my favorite love stories but for those who aren't interested in romance there is a lot else to like in this book too. Time travel and romance are a great combination and they certainly work out for Niffenegger here. I think everything is done very well and I liked jumping between time lines. Another thing I liked is that the book wasn't afraid to get gritty every now and then. It made it seem more real to me. Not excited about some parts and the ending but overall a great book. I get annoyed and frustrated when my husband travels for work. I worry about him and wonder what he's doing. And, of course, there is no one to help with the kids or housework. That's nothing compared to Clare's situation in The Time Traveler's Wife. She's waiting for her husband for the great majority of her life.

I think that over all, this was a really great read, but there were times when I had to ask myself why I was still reading. It's not a very short book, which normally doesn't bother me, but this story dragged on at times. The concept was different and it's obvious that the author spent a lot of time on research for various parts of this book. I would recommend it to someone looking for an unconventional love story.
