Overall, I liked this book. I was not WOW'd by it but it was a quick read. I liked the main character of Gus quite a bit but I think one of the faults of the book was that there were so many secondary characters that they ultimately felt a bit watered down. There were so many that none of them were ever satisfactorily fleshed out, in my opinion.

This book was such fun to read. I love watching cooking shows and the Food Network, so this story hit the mark for me. It was a winning combination of heartwarming and humorous.

This was a nice light little read that was fun for someone like me who enjoys cooking shows. I wouldn't put it very high on my recommendation list, but I enjoyed the characters even though the plot was rather predictable.
