Overall, I liked this book. I was not WOW'd by it but it was a quick read. I liked the main character of Gus quite a bit but I think one of the faults of the book was that there were so many secondary characters that they ultimately felt a bit watered down. There were so many that none of them were ever satisfactorily fleshed out, in my opinion.

Now that I've read two of her novels, it feels as if Kate Jacobs uses the same formula - one primary character surrounded by LOTS of secondary character

This book was such fun to read. I love watching cooking shows and the Food Network, so this story hit the mark for me. It was a winning combination of heartwarming and humorous.

This was a nice light little read that was fun for someone like me who enjoys cooking shows. I wouldn't put it very high on my recommendation list, but I enjoyed the characters even though the plot was rather predictable. ...more
